Welcome to the dark heart of New Orleans

About Lyra

Lyra Grey is the author of The Evelyn Wight Archives, where dark magic, dead things, and sharp-tongued witches thrive under a Louisiana moon. She loves her coffee strong, her tea sweet, and her cats mildly judgmental. Raised by Southern women who never played by the rules, she writes stories for anyone who knows the best kind of power comes with a price—and luck is never to be trusted.

"Evelyn pressed her back against a tree and wished, not for the first time, that she was a proper witch. The shadows at the edge of the library grounds moved when the wind didn’t, and the flickering streetlight seemed to pulse with warning. Darkness is your ally when you like to be invisible. Darkness becomes your friend when you need to stay invisible to survive."

A cursed book. An ancient coven. And a reluctant witch caught in the middle.

The Feral Witch - Book 2

A thief with a rare magical gift. A coven shrouded in secrets. A curse that will kill her—unless she uncovers the truth first.

A cursed thief. A dying body. A city devouring itself from the inside out.

The Death Witch - Book 3

"What a wildly immersive read! The Book Witch by Lyra Grey casts a powerful spell from page one. Evelyn is a brilliantly complex heroine - fierce, flawed, and full of heart."

★★★★★

"The Book Witch pulled me in from the first page and never let go. Evelyn is the kind of heroine you root for tough, clever, and just a little broken. I loved the eerie, vivid journey through the Dark City, where every corner held a new danger or strange wonder."

Frequently asked questions

What inspired you to become an author?

I've always loved stories. I come from a big family full of natural storytellers so some of my earliest memories are of listening to funny anecdotes at the dinner table, wild childhood memories shared over breakfast, and books read aloud before bed. Dreaming up my own worlds was inevitable, really.

Which book should I start with?

The Book Witch! It's the first book in the series and introduces our heroine, establishes the world, and sets the stage for the grander adventure.

What themes or tropes do you love to write about?

I'm an absolute sucker for forced proximity, one bed, and grumpy sunshine tropes, so even though my books are not categorically romance, you'll find similar undercurrents running through my stories. I also love found families, gruff exteriors shielding tender hearts, broken but brave, and the incredible power of just not giving up.

Are there any content warnings for your books?

Strong language. Action/adventure violence. Frightening scenes/imagery. Dances with spice but doesn't commit.

Will you be writing more books?

Try to stop me! There are two more books in the Evelyn Wight Archives scheduled for release in 2026 (March and September), as well as a super secret project coming your way in November 2026.

How can I stay updated on your work?

Sign up for my newsletter if you want all the goodies or follow me on social media if you only want the major announcements. Please just swing by the say hi either way!
